He founded successfully international consulting firms, news bureaus and peak performance labs.
Seamus is a field-proven management and Internet technology expert. In the mid-80s, when Singapore was in deep recession, Seamus worked as a laboratory assistant in a large testing and industrial research institute. He was paid about US$280 a month then! Seamus has since accumulated hands-on managerial and professional experience from international and local organizations, including McGallen & Bolden, Citibank, Ernst & Young, Pricewaterhouse, and Seagate.
What makes Seamus unique?
Seamus delivers powerful, inspiring, enriching, and thought-provoking speeches for CEOs, directors, and top government officials. Seamus combines 4 key areas that make powerful speeches - senior executive experience, pioneering new economy Internet knowledge, professional speaking expertise, and journalistic skills.
Seamus has conquered his physical limitations to emerge successful and happy. He was born severely premature (near death), later became seriously myopic (clinically blind at 1,300 degrees), and developed serious scoliosis (curved spine). Despite these limitations, Seamus became interested in physical sports, and took up karate, 100 meter sprinting, and later, became an enthusiast bodybuilder. His severe case of scoliosis, which used to give him hours of pain everyday, is now under control with bodybuilding, proper diets, and meditation. He is a sought after motivational speaker on corporate wellness, holistic health, stress management, fat reduction, and conquering personal limitations.
Seamus is a peer-recommended expert on Intota.com, FindCE.com, Find-Speaker.com, National Speakers Association USA, and others. He conducted prior patent-pending biochemistry research in autoxidation, and has done graduate work in that area.
Conquering his birth & medical problems
As the bestselling co-author of "This Body This Life", he speaks frequently as a motivational and inspirational speaker on conquering physical limitations, mental blocks, and stress. He nearly died at a serious premature birth (confirmed by the head surgeon in a Taiwan hospital), is very myopic (clinically blind at 1,300 degrees), and developed serious structural left lumbar scoliosis ("curved spine", where surgeons mentioned 50% chance of permanent disability if surgery is done, and possible later disability). His bad eyesight also poses problems occasionally. This explains why Seamus feels strongly for charity organizations such as the Society for the Physically Disabled (SPD). You can appreciate why Seamus moves at lightning speed for all his work, with full dedication to excellence, because he realizes that there is a possibility that he may not be able to do any work in his later years, should any disability result.
From dropout to his academic & other achievements
Seamus dropped out of junior college and served his national service, and was jobless for a period of time during the great economic depression of the 1980s in Singapore. But he went on to night school, and then distance learning while struggling to make ends meet.
Seamus earned a PhD in Business on January 2002, with a focus on Quality Management (Greenwich) and his dissertation research culminated in an automated Internet-based business analysis software for small companies. He was also awarded the Doctor of Humane Letters (D.Litt) by the Reformed Order of St Paul, for his humanitarian and volunteer efforts. More recently, Seamus graduated with a Doctor of Theology (Newburgh, Summa Cum Laude GPA 4.0) on December 2007, with his dissertation on seeking faith in the East, through a study of examples such as Jesuit priest Matteo Ricci and monastic Thomas Merton. Seamus has been also kindly honored by the St Thomas-a-Becket Institute UK (a ministry of Wesley Synod) with a Doctor of Theology with Honors based on his coursework and disssertation. Seamus has also done post-doctoral research in pre-Nicene liturgy, early Christian thought, and sacraments.
He has been inducted in the 500 Profiles in Excellence, amongst the likes of Nobel Peace Prize winner President Kim Dae-Jung (Korea), artist Peter Gabriel, "Seven Years in Tibet" movie director Jean-Jacques Annaud, Cardinal Jan Peer Schotte (Sec-Gen of the World Synod of Bishops), futurist Sir Arthur C Clarke, amongst others. He was also a Barons 500 Leaders of the New Century inductee, humbly alongside the likes of leading futurist and visionary Sir Arthur C Clarke and Bill Gates of Microsoft. He had been inducted into the Marquis (USA)'s Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in Science & Engineering, International Biography Centre (UK)'s Men and Women of Distinction.
